Members of the UpDoNA Cares Committee continue to actively support our community via volunteer work – but we could do so much more with more volunteers!
Recent activities include the January clothing drive for Denver Housing 1000 which you heard about in the February Newsletter.
On February 16, a group of us prepared and served lunch for the clients at The Delores Project, a 24/7 emergency shelter for women, transgender, and nonbinary individuals. Our next lunch at Delores is scheduled for Friday, April 12 and we need more volunteers for that.
Two of us recently toured Urban Peak, a local center/shelter providing many services to Denver youth and young adults (ages 14-24). They need volunteers to help prepare and/or serve meals and for other support roles. We would like to support Urban Peak but need more volunteers to effectively do that. Let us know if this is something you would like to help with!
If you would like to volunteer with UpDoNA Cares or get more information about our volunteer opportunities, please contact Ron Townsend (rontownsend@updona.org).
